Makeup and hair styling are two of the most important parts of your day, which is true whether the sun is out or if you just want ot brighten your mood on a gloomy weather day.
Choosing the right hair style and colour is one thing, but what is the best way to match your makeup with your hair?
In this article we’ll guide you though some helpful tips and tricks you can use to complement your hair colour and style to create the perfect look.

1. Match your foundation to your hair
When it comes to matching your makeup with your hair, the best place to start is with a good foundation or tinted moisturiser.
Look for one that complements both your haircut and skin tone. For example, choose a foundation with warm undertones if you have copper or red hair. Or, if you have silver or ash blonde hair, using a foundation with cool undertones will probably suit your best.
2. Factor in your primary hair colour
Whether you have a natural look or a universally dyed hair colour, you will need to pick an eyeshadow that is complementary. Soft, muted-shades like beige or taupe eyeshadows tend to work well with blonde hair, as do beach or pink shades.
A subtle touch of navy eyeliner can also help to play up green or blue eyes. If you have black or brunette hair, go for something a little more dramatic, with bright jewel tones or deep brown eyeshadow for the smoky eyes.

3. Complement your highlights
Anyone that has highlights in their hair can use them as a guide for picking out makeup colours. Taking this approach will help you create a cohesive look that complements your hair and natural beauty.
Champagne-coloured or similar light eyeshadow tones are a good colour for blonde highlights, which will help to draw the eye from your hair to your face. Or, if you have brown or red highlights, go for a warm-toned brush or eyeshadow, as this tends to work very well.
4. Factor in your hairstyle
Last, but definitely not least, you will need to consider your hairstyle. If you go for loose waves or curls, natural, a dewy makeup look with pink blush and nude lipstick offers optimal radiance.
Alternatively, accentuate your eyes to draw attention to your face with a smoky eye or bright highlighter if you a have a messy top knot or sleek bun. If you have straight hair, choose a more polished makeup look with a dramatic cat-eye or bold lips.
